Wallace has the distinction of being the first Cyclone to earn First-team All-America honors (per the Chicago Tribune’s Walter Eckersall)
On offense he played center and on defense he played what experts of that time called “roving center”, an early name for what is known today as linebacker
In the first homecoming win in Ames history, Wallace blocked a punt in the 1917 game vs. Kansas that led to a 10-7 victory
Three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference pick and a senior team captain
Wrestled for three years (career mark of 13-0-1) and won the intercollegiate heavyweight championship in 1921
