AMES, Iowa (AP) - Shane Power scored 18 points and Tyray Pearson 17 as Iowa State extended its home-court winning streak to 38 games with a 64-39 victory over Savannah State Tuesday night.
Pearson also had 12 rebounds and Omar Bynum had 11 for the Cyclones.
Iowa State (3-2) made just one of its first 12 shots but never trailed.
Pearson and Power each scored seven points in the first half, staking Iowa State to its 24-14 halftime lead. The Cyclones took a 5-0 lead as Savannah State missed its first five shots and turned the ball over twice.
Cyclone sophomore point guard Jake Sullivan left the floor less than four minutes into the game with a strained right knee and never returned.
The Cyclones began the second half with an 8-2 run, then used an 8-1 run to open up a 40-24 lead with 11:05 to play. Iowa State led by as many as 24 points on three occasions on the second half.
Iowa State made only 19 of 52 shots from the field but made 23 of 29 free throw attempts, including 17 of 20 in the second half.
Savannah State (0-3) was led by Alvin Payton's 12 points as the Tigers made only 15 of 48 field goal attempts and turned the ball over 17 times.
