AMES, Iowa -- Cyclone Erin Dethloff took first place, set a career high and broke the all-time Iowa State freshmen record in the all-around competition for the third time this season (39.60), but ISU fell to the Sooners 196.150-196.950.
Coach K.J. Kindler said, "
Dethloff shared first place honors on the vault with OU's Kristen Cox (9.850). ISU's Jessica Oney claimed third place in the event (9.825).
Winning the uneven bars competition was Dethloff with a 9.925. Freshman Laura-Kay Powell tied for second with
Sooner Kelly Haggerty took first place on the beam with a 9.925.
Dethloff and senior teammate Karen Kuplicki set career highs and placed in a three-way tie for first on the floor along with
Aoki took second in the all-around with a 39.30.
"We had our best floor routine all year, unfortunately we had too many mistakes on vault, bars and beam," Kindler stated.
The Cyclones will next play host to the Missouri Tigers on March 7 at Hilton Coliseum at 7 p.m.
