AMES, Iowa -- The No. 10 Iowa State gymnastics team hosted and took first place in its own quadrangular meet over intrastate rival Iowa (192.400), Hamline (175.075) and Gustavus (173.750). The Cyclones (39.45) swept each event as a team, as well as individually.
ISU sophomore Janet Anson took first-place honors on vault with 9.875. Juniors Erin Dethloff and Laura-Kay Powell finished second (9.85) and third (9.80), respectively. Sophomore Jade Kvach claimed fourth with a 9.725.
ISU set a team season-high score on uneven bars (49.15). Dethloff led the squad and took overall honors with a 9.90. In second was Powell (9.875) and in third was Kvach (9.825).
The Cyclones took first, second and third on beam as well. Kvach placed first (9.775), sophomore Ashley Alden was second (9.75) and Anson placed third (9.70).
In first place on floor was Anson (9.875). Kvach, Powell and Dethloff shared second-place honors (9.825) and junior Kacey Oiness (9.75) was fifth.
Anson took first in the all-around while Dethloff took second (39.175), Kvach placed third with a career-high score of 39.150 and Powell claimed fourth with a 38.65.
