AMES, Iowa - Haylee Young took first place at Saturday's Big 12 Championship, becoming the 2015 Big 12 All-Around Champion. The freshman led the Iowa State on beam and floor and earned an all-around score of 39.125. Young is Iowa State's fourth Big 12 all-around champion, its first since Sissy Huey in 2002.
Caitlin Brown tied for the Big 12 title on the uneven bars with Oklahoma's Rebecca Clark, earning a career-high 9.900. Brown's bars crown marked the 11th Big 12 bars crown for ISU, and a repeat following Camille Santerre-Gervais' win last season.
Iowa State took third place in the team race with a total score of 194.775. They fell behind No. 1 Oklahoma, who earned a 197.825, and West Virginia who received a score of 195.025.
Floor
Haylee Young led the team on floor with a score of 9.875. Caitlin Brown came in close behind her with a 9.850. Kelsey Paz and Briana Ledesma both contributed with scores of 9.800 and 9.775, respectively. Kristen DeCosta brought in a 9.750 to help bring the team score to 49.050.
Bars
Caitlin Brown set a career high on the uneven bars with her 9.900, finishing tied for first with Oklahoma's Rebecca Clark. Sammie Pearsall brought in the next highest score, a 9.800. Hilary Green earned a 9.775 to help the Cyclones to a team uneven bars score of 48.900.
Vault
Alex Marasco and Courtney Middelkoop both earned 9.775 to lead the team on vault. Haylee Young earned a 9.725 and Caitlin Brown received a 9.700 to help the team earn a vault score of 48.650.
Beam
Iowa State started the meet on beam, earning a team score of 48.175 on the event. Haylee Young earned the highest score of the Cyclones with a 9.800. Alex Marasco brought in the next best score with 9.775. Hilary Green and Sammie Pearsall both eaned 9.675. The Cyclones' team score had to count a team score as both Caitlin Brown and Kelsey Paz fell during their routines.
All-Around
Haylee Young earned an all-around score of 39.125 to take first place. Brown became the fourth Cyclone to win the Big 12 all-around crown and the first since Sissy Huey earned it in 2002. Caitlin Brown also competed in the all-around and received a score of 38.700, finishing third.

The selection show for the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships will take place on Monday at 2 p.m., and will be streamed online on ncaa.com. Since Iowa State University is hosting an NCAA Regional Championship, the Cyclones will be placed in the Ames Regional. The NCAA Gymnastics Ames Regional Championship will take place on Saturday, Apr. 4 at Hilton Coliseum, starting at 4 p.m.
