AMES, Iowa - Head Coach, Matt Leach announced ten signees for the 2025 class on Tuesday. Swimmers from Iowa, Louisiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Italy and divers from Oregon and Arizona will join the 2025-26 squad for the Cyclones.
Leach is thrilled about the potential and talent of this signing class. "It is so exciting to announce these ten amazing young Cyclones as they bring in a plethora of high-level character, academics and competitiveness," Leach said. "We have a ton of talent from top to bottom in this class which is going to be fun to watch grow as we work diligently to get back to a national level."
Andra Robertson · Swimmer · Ames, Iowa ·
Ames High School Robertson is the daughter of Alison and Malcom Robertson and sister to Kristi Robertson. Earning four letters in high school and serving as team captain for two, Robertson earned a variety of titles. Robertson was the 200 breaststroke state champion in 2024. She was an eight-time conference champion and a ten-time regional champion through the 200 IM, 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 200 freestyle.

Kendall Schindler · Swimmer · Minnetonka, Minn. · Minnetonka High School
Schindler, a Minnetonka High School senior, signed to swim at Iowa State from the class of 2025. Schindler joins the team from Minnetonka, Minnesota as the daughter of Erin and Jay Schindler. Her high school team were two-time state runner-ups and state champions throughout her high school career. Schindler was state runner-up in the 100 breaststroke in 2024 and 50 freestyle in 2023.
Leach on Schindler… "Kendall is a legacy Cyclone with strong Cyclone genetics. Kendall will help strengthen our sprint freestyle events, relays and our breaststroke group, which is strong and very deep."
Brooke Gill · Swimmer · Lafayette, La. · Ascension Episcopal School
Gill is the daughter of Leslie and Chris Gill. She was an individual state champion four times throughout her high school career. She was named state champion in the 200 IM in 2023 and 2021, 100 breaststroke in 2023, and 100 backstroke in 2021. Her father played football at James Madison, graduating in 1997.
Leach on Gill… "Brooke is taking off! Over the summer, she dropped time in the majority of her events and really stepped up on relays. I am looking forward to welcoming her and her family to our Cyclone Family."
Olivia Moore · Swimmer · Aurora, Ill. · Rosary High School
Moore is the daughter of Leanne and William Moore, and sister to Abby Moore. Her mother swam at Southern Illinois University, graduating in 2000. Moore is a four-year letter winner, winning team sectionals three years, and state in 2023. She was a state finalist in 2021, 2022, and 2023, winning first team all state each year and was named National High School Girls Swimming All-American for those three years. Moore was state champion in the 200 freestyle relay, setting an Illinois state record.
Leach on Moore… "Olivia comes to our Cyclone Family with a unique journey but will join our Breaststroke group as one of the strongest incoming Breaststrokers in our family. She brings in a ton of hard work in the weight room and pool and has a strong determination to prove people wrong in the best way possible."
Kendall Mallers · Swimmer · Aurora, Ill. · Rosary High School
Mallers is the daughter of Jeff and Carmen Mallers, and sister to Kellen Mallers. Mallers helped Rosary High to team state title in 2023 and sectionals and conference championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Leach on Mallers… "Kendall comes from a very strong club team in Illinois, and she is someone that will work her tail off. We are excited for her to get here and strengthen our fly group and help develop our freestyle core. She is such a great addition and will be a great Cyclone!"
Matilde Geromin · Swimmer · Verona, Italy · Marco Polo High School
Geromin is daughter of Elisa Contarato and Vito Geromin and sister to Vittoria Geromin. While in high school, Geromin attended Italian National Championships by age in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Leach on Geromin… "Matilde is an emerging talent in the sport, and her breaststroke really stands out. She comes in as a strong Short Course Meter swimmer, which fits perfectly with the NCAA system, and her times qualify her for junior nationals here in the U.S."
Evelyn Mulvihill · Swimmer · Elmhurst, Ill. · Fenwick High School
Mulvihill is the daughter of Matt (ISU Wrestling '98) and Leslie Mulvihill (ISU Swim '98). Both Matt and Leslie are Iowa State Athletics alums, as Matt was on the wrestling team and Leslie was on the swim team, both graduating in 1998. Mulvihill's impressive accomplishments include being a Sectional Runner-Up in 2021, leading her team to Sectional Championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and earning All-Conference honors in 2024. She was recognized as a Scholastic All-American in 2024.
Leach on Mulvihill… "Over the summer Evelyn really grew as a swimmer and went from a strong backstroker to a junior national qualifier in the sprint freestyle events. She is another Cyclone legacy with strong ties to Cyclone Nation, and I can't wait for her to get here and develop!"
Carlotta Gazzola · Swimmer · Milan, Italy · Marie Curie Milano High School
Gazzola is the daughter of Elisabetta Bertoldi. Carlotta adds to the Cyclones' swim team with impact in the mid and distance freestyle.
Leach on Gazzola… "Carlotta is coming from Italy and would be a junior national qualifier here in the states, and will have an immediate impact from the 200 freestyle all the way up to the 1650 freestyle. She will be able to continue to grow and help out on relays, as well as build our Cyclone freestyle training group."
Jade Hazes · Diver · Hillsboro, Ore. · Century High School
Hazes is the daughter of Crystal and Adam Hazes, who both collegiate springboard and platform divers at Indiana University. Hazes was an AAU national finalist in 2024 and qualified for the USA National.
Leach on Hazes… "We are thrilled to welcome Jade and the Hazes Family to our Cyclone Family! As a dedicated athlete from a diving legacy, Jade has been a multiple-time national qualifier. Her drive to help the Cyclones return to the NCAA level is inspiring, and I'm confident she and Iona will make a powerful team."
Iona Moffat · Diver · Cave Creek, Ariz. · Cactus Shadows High School
Moffat is the daughter of Claire and Iain Moffat and sister to Isla Moffat. Moffat is a two-time state champion in the Arizona D2 1-meter diving in 2023 and 2024. She holds the record for all divisions in 1-meter diving for Arizona Girls High School State Championships.
Leach on Moffat… "The Cyclone Family and diving team just got stronger with the addition of Iona Moffat! A standout in the 2025 class, Iona was a 1M and 3M National Finalist this past summer and is ranked among the top 10 divers in her class. We're excited to help her continue to grow both on the boards and the platform."
