AMES, Iowa – Iowa State soccer coach Matt Fannon has announced the addition of four transfers to the 2025 Cyclone roster. Allison Charleston (Wright State), Cassidy Corcione (Michigan State), Lucy Froitzheim (Florida) and Morgan Goodman (Xavier) make up the transfer class for ISU.
All four additions are underclassmen who will have multiple years of eligibility in Ames.
"Our staff worked tirelessly through the transfer window to find the players who would be the right fit for exactly what we need moving into 2025," says Fannon. "There were over 1,600 portal entries for women's soccer, and we were looking for 3-4 that would significantly improve our squad. We are thrilled with the four new faces who will join us in January."
Allison Charleston, a 5-2 sophomore midfielder, finished her freshman campaign at Wright State earlier this fall, competing in all 17 matches and starting 15. She scored one goal on 10 shots, placing four on goal, and totaled over 1,000 minutes of action.
Charleston, a Cincinnati, Ohio native, comes to Ames with three years of eligibility remaining.
"Ally is a left-footed midfielder that has great athleticism and an engine that can go all day," says Fannon. "She is tenacious and will put in the hard yards that can dominate in the middle of the park."
Cassidy Corcione, a 5-4 freshman defender, comes from Michigan State, where she appeared in seven contests. In seven outings, Corcione notched a pair of assists and took just one shot, placing it on goal.
Corcione, a native of Howell, New Jersey, will be the second Cyclone to have transferred in from Michigan State, joining Isabella Agrusso. Like Charleston, Corcione will have three years of eligibility remaining.
"Cass has such a drive to compete and win, which is invaluable when you are taking a team from good to great," says Fannon. "She is an exciting attacking fullback that will give us so much flexibility with our depth as well as our system."
Lucy Froitzheim, a 5-11 sophomore midfielder, arrives in Ames after a pair of seasons in Gainesville, Fla., with the Florida Gators.
Froitzheim is a Florida native, growing up in Naples before enrolling at Florida. Frotizheim saw limited action as a Gator, appearing in just one contest where she logged nine minutes.
"Another player giving us a number of options is Lucy," says Fannon. "She's probably best suited as a center back but can definitely play in defensive midfield and at left back too. She is good in the air and tough into tackles and has the ability to play the way we want our defenders to play too."
Morgan Goodman, a 5-9 midfielder, comes to Ames from Xavier where she just wrapped her freshman season.
Goodman, a Manlius, New York native, competed in four matches for the Musketeers during her lone season in Cincinnati.
"Morgan has an understanding of how the game should be played," says Fannon. "She has an eye for a pass and wants to unlock teams by being smart and reading the game. She is a box-to-box midfielder that will slide seamlessly into our system."
All four transfers look to make an immediate impact for the Cyclones and will enroll for the winter semester, getting to practice and compete with the team in the spring. ISU's 2025 campaign will begin in August.
