Cyclones Pick Up Two Saturday Victories

Ames, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team earned two singles victories at the Drake Invite in Des Moines Saturday, with Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Gabriella Kellner picking up one win each.
San Martin opened the day for the Cyclones by defeating Drake's Maja Dodik, 7-6 (5), 2-6, [10-6], before falling to Ethel Li from North Dakota in her second match of the day. Kellner lost her opening match on Saturday, but the freshman bounced back by taking down Nebraska-Omaha's Katelynn Kock, 6-4, 6-3. Gabriela Felix and Kira Smith each fell in both of their singles matches.
The Cyclones will be back in action for the final day of the Drake Invite Sunday morning.
