AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team and head coach Jaron Maestas have announced the signing of Australian Alicia Dale. Dale will join the Cyclones in January and is eligible to compete for the program this spring.
The Tasmania, Australia, native owns a 9.58 UTR and a career-high ITF junior ranking of 273. She won three junior ITF titles, including the J100 Launceston tournament.
"We are super pumped to add Alicia to our team this January," Maestas said. "She is one of the best competitors around and fits into the tough culture we have here at Iowa State."
After winning the J100 Launceston, Dale received a wildcard into the HCi Burnie International Pro Tournament and promptly shocked the No. 1 seed, Kyoka Okamura of Japan, 6-3, 6-0.
Among her accomplishments, Dale claimed the prestigious Pardey Shield in February of 2024.
