AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head coach Matt Fannon has announced the signing of four prep players to National Letters of Intent.
The Cyclones have signed Aubrey Crawford, Izzy Kapanke, Ella Moersch and Ryan Weber, who will be freshmen for the 2026 season.
"We are really excited about our class of 2026," says Fannon. "They round out our squad really well and will create competition immediately. I am sure we will see great success from them over their four years here at Iowa State."
Aubrey "Pickles" Crawford – 5'3 | MF | Frisco, Texas | Frisco Memorial HS
Crawford spent the past two seasons as a starter for Frisco, standing out both academically and on the pitch. Crawford was the team's Utility Player of the Year in 2022, playing both in the attacking third and in the midfield. A two-time Academic All-District recipient, Crawford held a 4.8/4.0 GPA in.
"Pickles is a quick, direct player that can fit comfortably into a number of attacking positions," says Fannon. "She is very coachable and will grow into a pretty special forward here."
Izzy Kapanke – 5'5 | MF | Rosemount, Minn. | St. Croix Lutheran HS
Kapanke was a five-year varsity starter at St. Croix and was part of a squad that went 57-22-6 over that span. Lettering in all five seasons, Kapanke spent her last three seasons as a team captain under coaches Jill Kock and Dave Huebner. Kapanke was an All-Conference selection all five years and was First Team All-State her final three seasons.
"Izzy brings a lot of personality to her game and can play comfortably in central midfield or fullback," says Fannon. "She has the technical ability and athleticism to perform immediately at this level."
Ella Moersch – 5'7 | GK | St. Louis, Mo. | St. Joseph's Academy
A four-year letterwinner and starter in high school, Moersch was coached by Maureen McVey. Moersch helped lead her team to a state championship victory in 2025, when she was named the Missouri All-State Goalkeeper of the Year while also earning All-Region and All-State recognitions.
"Ella is a goalkeeper filled with potential," says Fannon. "She strikes the ball well and is sneaky athletic. We have a history of top-level goalkeepers here, and she will fit in nicely."
Ryan Weber – 5'10 | D | Carmel, Ind. | Carmel HS
A flexible backline player, Weber is set to join Iowa State after being a three-year varsity letterwinner at Carmel. A senior team captain, Weber has helped lead Carmel to an 80 percent winning percentage over the three seasons she's seen time. Coached by John Simmons and Carla Baker, Weber received an All-American nomination in her senior year.
"Weber will add great athleticism to our defense and has a very high ceiling to what she can become as a Cyclone," says Fannon. "We are excited to add her to the class."
