Cyclone Swimming and Diving Earns Scholar All-America Honors

AMES, Iowa – Eight members of the Iowa State swimming and diving team have been selected as Second Team Scholar All-Americans as announced by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Cyclone swimmers and divers were also one of 169 Division I women's teams to be selected for spring team honors after posting 3.72 GPA. The spring 2026 semester also marks the 39th consecutive semester Iowa State has been a recipient of the team award.
Maggie Bendell, Jade Hazes, Kendall Mallers, Kate Mitchell, Iona Moffat, Anja Peck, Grace Swoboda and Abby Tollefson represented the Cyclones on the Individual Scholar All-America Second Team, maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while participating in a postseason competition (NCAA Zone Diving Qualifications, National Invitational Championships, etc.). It marks the fourth career Scholar All-America honors for Mitchell and the second for both Bendell and Tollefson.

ISU swimming and diving recorded the athletics department highest spring semester team GPA (3.72) this year and helped establish school records for both multi-year institutional (992) and single-year (997) Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores according to data released by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in May. The multi-year APR rate is calculated based upon the 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years, while the one-year score was generated from the 2024-25 academic term. The swimming and diving program registered a multi-year APR score of 995.
