2021-22
Indoor: Ran for Iowa State at nine meets … earned first team All-America honors running 800m leg for ISU’s sixth place distance medley relay (9:28.62) at the NCAA Championships … also ran 800m leg for Iowa State’s school-record 9:24.07 distance medley relay team at the Arkansas Qualifier … was member of Cyclones’ silver-medal distance medley relay (9:37.92), fourth in the 800m run (1:48.17) and ninth as part of the 4x400m relay (3:12.17) at the Big 12 Championships … was second in the 800m run (1:48.52) to teammate Frank Hayes at the Arkansas Qualifier … went under 1:50 in all eight 800m runs he had during the indoor season … also competed at the Iowa State Classic, Meyo Invitational, Razorback Invitational, Cyclone Open, ISU Holiday Invitational and Wooo Pig Classic.

Outdoor: Finished the season strong, earning Second Team All-America honors with 15th place finish in 800-meter run at NCAA Outdoor Championships … earned spot at NCAA Championships with 10th place effort at 800 at NCAA West Preliminaries in season-best mark of 1:47.69 … was the Big 12 silver medalist at 800 meters, also running a 1:47.69 in Manhattan … was member of ISU’s ‘B’ 4x800m relay at the Drake Relays which finished sixth … also ran the 800 at the Rock Chalk Classic, Drake Relays and Hayward Premiere.

Indoor: Ran 800m leg for Iowa State’s ninth place distance medley relay team at the NCAA Indoor Championships, earning Second Team All-America honors, finishing in 9:36.00 … also ran the 800 leg for ISU’s school-record DMR at the Razorback Invitational, which crossed in 9:27.90 … took fourth place in 800m at Big 12 Indoor Championships (1:50.50) … clocked an indoor season-best 1:49.58 in the 800 at the Iowa State Classic to finish third … also finished third in the 800m at the Razorback Invitational (1:50.11) … was member of winning 4x400m relay at the Cyclone Open (3:17.96).

Had an outstanding prep career at Fork Union Military Academy, winning 13 state titles, 12 league titles and earning All-America honors in 2014 and 2016 ... outdoors, was a three-time state champion in Virginia at 1,600m and two-time state champ at 800m (along with a runner-up finish as a junior) ... also picked up a state crown at 3,200m as a senior and as part of the 4x400m relay as a sophomore ... as a senior outdoors, went undefeated in the 1,600 and 3,200m runs ... indoors, won state titles at 1,000 and 1,600m as a junior and senior along with a sophomore-season state crown at 1,000m ... competed at New Balance Indoor Nationals three times, with a best finish of third as part of the sprint medley relay as a junior and fourth in the 800m that year as well.

Brothers are Lopez and Peter Lomong ... Lopez is a two-time U.S. Olympian (was also U.S. flag bearer at 2008 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies) and has won the last two USATF Outdoor 10,000m titles and is the most recent USATF Outdoor 5,000m champ ... Peter Lomong competed collegiately at Northern Arizona, earning two All-America honors in cross country while helping the Lumberjacks win three NCAA XC team national titles ... was born in South Sudan and moved to the United States from Juja, Kenya with Peter in 2009.
