Indoor: Competed in the 1,000-meter run at the Hawkeye Invitational.

XC: Competed in all three post season races for the Cyclones, serving as an important asset in Iowa State's run to Big 12 and NCAA Regional titles… finished 123rd at the NCAA Regional with a time of 33:19.5… finished 232nd with a time of 32:36.2 at the NCAA Championships… earned Academic All-Big 12 Second Team recognition.

2017-18
Outdoor: Took part in four meets for ISU … finished fifth in 1,500-meter run (3:48.45) at Big 12 Outdoor Championships … also ran the 1,500 at the Stanford Invitational (3:49.73) … won his section of the 800-meter run (1:50.76) at the Sun Angel Track Classic … finished fifth in the 800 at the Drake Relays (1:50.58).

Indoor: Ran in six meets for Iowa State … finished fourth in the 1,000-meter run (2:31.06) and third as part of the distance medley relay (9:50.65) at the Big 12 Championships … ran lead-off for DMR which finished seventh with second-fastest time in school history (9:32.14) at the Alex Wilson Invitational … finished third in the 1,000-meter run at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite (2:27.35) and the Hawkeye Invitational (2:28.22) … finished fifth in the 1,000 at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational (2:28.37).

XC: Competed for the Cyclones at the Big 12 Championship … helped Iowa State to its first Big 12 title finishing 25th in 24:43.5 … at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, competed in the “B” race, finished 65th in 26:06 … Competed at the Hawkeye Invitational, finishing 16th individually in 18:26.6.

2016-17
Outdoor: Competed in five meets for Iowa State … finished seventh in the 1,500-meter run at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships … ran to personal-best time of 3:48.75 in the 1,500 at the Bryan Clay Invitational, finishing seventh in his section … took fifth in his section of the 1,500 at the Stanford Invitational … also ran in the 1,500 at the Payton Jordan Invitational … was member of 4x800-meter relay team that finished second at the Drake Relays.

Indoor: Represented Iowa State in six meets … finished fourth in the 1,000-meter run and was member of bronze-medal winning distance medley relay at the Big 12 Indoor Championships … his time of 2:23.91 in the 1,000 final ranks him fifth in ISU history in the event … used a strong finish to win the 1,000-meter run invitational at the PSU National Open … also ran the 1,000 at the Hawkeye Invite, taking third … finished third in the 800-meter run premier at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational … ran to a 10th-place finish in the mile invitational at the Iowa State Classic.

The Sallisaw, Oklahoma native won the 2015 Oklahoma state cross country meet … also won the champion of the 2015 Arkansas vs. Oklahoma All-Star cross country meet … on the track, Black won state titles in the 800m and 3,200m at the 2016 outdoor Oklahoma state meet … took the 1,600m crown home from the 2016 Oklahoma Meet of Champions … 2016 Hershey's Youth 800 & 1,500-meter national champion … holds personal bests of 1:52.10 (800m), 4:09.74 (1600m – Oklahoma state record) and 9:15.89 (3200m).
