AMES, Iowa ? Whitney Canion struck out 12 and held Iowa State to just one hit as Baylor defeated the Cyclones, 6-0, in Big 12 softball action Saturday afternoon at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
With the loss, Iowa State falls to 19-23 overall and 1-7 in Big 12 play. Baylor improves to 32-15 and 8-3.

After not taking advantage of a bases loaded, no-out situation in the first and going down without a hit in the second, BU got things going offensively in the third inning.
Brette Reagan opened the scoring with an RBI single before the Lady Bears tacked on a pair of solo homers in the fourth inning to go up 3-0. Bree Hanafin and Tiffany Wesley hit the homers for the Lady Bears.
Reagan added a solo homer to lead off the seventh and BU scored two more in the frame to round of the scoring and give the Lady Bears the 6-0 win.
Rachel Zabriskie (12-18) took the loss for the Cyclones, allowing six runs on 13 hits. Zabriskie struck out six in the game.
Hanafin led the Lady Bears, going 3-for-4 and driving in three runs. Five other Lady Bears collected two hits.
Iowa State will return to action Tuesday as it plays host to Nebraska at 3:30 p.m.
