Game #6Â - Western Illinois
• Iowa State returns to Hilton Coliseum to face Western Illinois following a successful trip to South Carolina which saw it defeat Appalachian State, Tulsa and Boise State to win the 2017 Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach...the Cyclones trailed for just 16:13 during the tournament and compiled leads of at least 16 points against all opponents.
• After playing four of its first five games on the road, Iowa State plays its next eight games inside Iowa's borders, including seven of the games at Hilton Coliseum...the lone neutral site game will be Dec. 16 when the Cyclones face Northern Iowa in Des Moines at the Hy-Vee Classic.
#CycloneNotes
• ISU looks to run its win streak to four games and earn its first win at Hilton Coliseum this season...ISU hasn't lost back-to-back home games since the 2010-11 season...following an 0-2 start to the season, the Cyclones sit at 3-2 after winning their third regular-season tournament in the last five seasons.
• Iowa State has leaned on its guard trio of Nick Weiler-Babb, Donovan Jackson and Lindell Wigginton to turn around its early season struggles...after averaging just 57.5 points and shooting just 38.8 percent from the field in the first two games, ISU averaged 86.3 points and shot much better from the field (47.9 FG%/39.1 3FG%) in the last three games.
• Weiler-Babb has proven to be the point guard the Cyclones were looking for since moving into the role of primary ball handler at the start of the tournament...he earned tournament MVP honors and was named Big 12 Player of the Week...he is the only player in the nation averaging at least 15.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 6.0 apg and shooting at least 60 percent from the field.
• Weiler-Babb has posted back-to-back double-doubles and with another against Western Illinois would become the first Cyclone to record three consecutive since Jameel McKay did so against NDSU, Buffalo and Iowa in 2015-16.
• Jackson was terrific off the ball for the Cyclones, averaging 25.3 points and hitting four 3-pointers in all three games to earn all-tournament team honors...the senior is the first Cyclone to post three consecutive 20-point games since Georges Niang finished the 2015-16 season with five consecutive 20-point games...he is one of 20 players nationally with three games of 23 or more points.
• Wigginton posted his first career double-double with a 14 point-10 rebound performance against Boise State in the finals...the freshman averaged 13.0 points at the tournament.
• Iowa State is shooting 35 percent from behind the arc after shooting just 26.5 percent from long distance the first two games this season...the numbers compare favorably to previous Cyclone teams...last season through five games, ISU shot 33.3 percent behind the arc the first five games...only twice in the last five seasons has ISU had a better percentage through five games (2015-16 - 39.1%; 2013-14- 38.3%).
• Cameron Lard has seven blocks in three games played this season...he had three each against Appalachian State and Tulsa...last season, ISU had eight games in which a player had three blocks (Deonte Burton, 7; Solomon Young, 1).

• Jackson (26) led the way, while Weiler-Babb (10 pts, 11 assts, 7 rbs) had another terrific all-around performance and Wigginton (14) joined them in double figures...Wigginton also had 10 rebounds to post his first career double-double.
• Weiler-Babb was named tournament MVP and Jackson earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
• Iowa State held Boise State to 27.6 percent shooting in the first-half, the lowest single-half output by an opponent this season.
• ISU had 14 assists compared to just nine for Boise State, improving to 3-0 when having more assists than turnovers (season-low 8).
• It was ISU's fifth-straight trip to the championship game of a regular-season tournament and the third championship (2013 Diamond Head Classic, 2015 Emerald Coast Classic).
Up Next: Northern Illinois
• ISU has nine days between games before hosting Northern Illinois at Hilton Coliseum on Monday, Dec. 4...the Cyclones own a 4-2 edge in the series as the teams meet for the seventh time, including the third since 2011.
• The Cyclones have had a number of key contributors transfer in from Northern Illinois recently...graduate transfers Jake Anderson and Darrell Bowie played significant roles for the Cyclones, but none had a bigger impact than current Boston Celtic Abdel Nader, a member of back-to-back NCAA Tournament qualifiers and the 2015 Big 12 Tournament championship team.
