BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Iowa State soccer team (1-3-1) fought to a 0-0 tie against South Dakota State (1-3-1) on Friday at Fishback Soccer Park. The Cyclones put seven shots on goal, to just two for the Jackrabbits, but were unable to connect on any of the chances.
Freshman Courtney Powell led Iowa State with four shots, including two on goal, followed by Emily Steil, who also put a pair of strikes on target. The match was the second career shutout for freshman goalkeeper Dayja Schwichtenberg, who had two saves on the night.

Turning Point of the Game
Iowa State looked as if it would finally break through during an offensive flurry late in the second half, putting three shots on goal in the final four minutes of regulation. McKenna Schultz, Brooke Tasker and Merin Mundt all put shots on target, but SDSU goalkeeper Maggie Smither was there with a save at every turn.

Cyclone Game Ball Goes to...
Jordan Enga. The junior center back was all over the field on Friday night for the Cyclones, continually turning away SDSU threats before the Jackrabbits could put ISU in danger. Enga helped lead the Cyclone backline that allowed just two shots on goal.
