AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team (3-8, 0-2 Big 12) is set to take on TCU (7-4-1, 1-1-1 Big 12) on Sunday at noon at the Cyclone Sports Complex. Admission is free and the match will be broadcast live by Cyclones.tv. Sunday will also be Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the pitch. Fans are encouraged to wear pink, and pink poms will be handed out to the crowd.

CYCLONE HEADLINES
1. The Cyclones battled No. 18 Texas Tech on Thursday in ISU's Big 12 home opener, falling 1-0 in double overtime. Iowa State held the Big 12's No. 1 scoring offense scoreless throughout regulation, allowing just five shots on goal in the first 90 minutes. The Red Raiders broke through for a golden goal by Sierra Jones in the 108th minute.
2. Freshman Abbey Van Wyngarden has been a revelation since head coach Tony Minatta made her one of his starting forwards at the beginning of conference play. Van Wyngarden has tallied a team-high 10 shots over the last two matches, including a career-high seven in Thursday's match vs. TTU. Junior forward Kassi Ginther also tied a career-best with four shots in 42 minutes of action.
3. Goalkeeper Georgia Wimmer, a freshman, made her collegiate debut and was a bright spot vs. Texas Tech. Wimmer made four saves to help hold the Big 12's top offense scoreless in regulation. The Red Raiders entered the match averaging a league-leading 2.6 goals per match.
4. The Cyclone back line has been playing at a high level of late, and was on display once again Thursday as Iowa State became just the second team to hold TTU scoreless in regulation this season.
5. Center backs Carly Langhurst and Taylor Bee both played all 108 minutes vs. TTU, while starting outside backs Shea Sullivan and McKenna Schultz were able to be spelled by emerging freshman Oliva Wee, who has added quality depth at the position.
6. Iowa State's six shots on goal vs. West Virginia tied a season-high (vs. Omaha) and were its most ever in the eight-match series vs. West Virginia that dates back to 2012. The Cyclones had tallied six shots on goal combined in their previous five meetings vs. WVU.
7. The Cyclones had a season-high five field players that played the entire 90 minutes in the Big 12 opener at West Virginia. Mira Emma, Courtney Powell and Marin Daniel and played 90 minutes for the first time this season, while Wee played a season-high 59 minutes. Bee is the lone ISU field player that has played all 1,012 available minutes this season.
8. Junior goalkeeper Dayja Schwichtenberg tallied her second shutout of the season vs. Omaha, and the sixth of her career. Schwichtenberg has gathered in a career-high nine saves twice this season, and now leads the Big 12 with 48 saves in 11 matches. Her .762 save percentage ranks No. 7 in the Big 12.
9. Emma, a native of Wheaton, Ill., was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week for her efforts vs. SIUE and Saint Louis. She was the first Cyclone to earn a weekly award from the conference since Klasey Medelberg was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 25, 2016.
10. The win at SIUE was Iowa State's first overtime victory since Oct. 21, 2016, when Medelberg scored a golden goal at No. 24 Baylor. A season-high eight freshmen saw playing time in Iowa State's 2-1 victory at SIUE
11. The offensive prowess of Tony Minatta's freshman class has been on display early in 2019. Including ISU's two exhibition matches, freshmen have accounted for nine of Iowa State's 12 goals. Emma (5) and redshirt freshman Kenady Adams (3) are Iowa State's points leaders this season. Freshmen have delivered four of ISU's six regular season goals, and account for all six assists.
12. The Cyclones are scheduled to play five matches this season against teams currently ranked in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 poll, four of which will be road contests for Iowa State. The last time the Cyclones faced more than five ranked teams in the same season was 2008.
