No. 23 Iowa State Heads to Mardi Gras Invitational

AMES, Iowa – The No. 23 Iowa State gymnastics team will hit the road and travel to St. Charles, Missouri for the Mardi Gras Invitational on Friday starting at 2 p.m. This meet will be held at a neutral site, and will take place at the The Family Arena. Iowa State will be competing against Texas Women's University, Southeast Missouri State University, and Lindenwood University, the latter of whom Iowa State has competed against this year.

The Cyclones have shined on bars their last two meets, scoring a 49.275 and 49.250. Laura Burns has found a hot streak on bars, scoring a 9.900, 9.875 and 9.925 in her last three meets. Iowa State has also gotten production from their its freshmen. Five Iowa State freshmen were in the most recent lineup against Southern Utah, and four of them posted scores of 9.800 and above.
