AMES, Iowa – The No. 23 Iowa State gymnastics team is set to welcome the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners to Hilton Coliseum on Monday night at 6:30 p.m.
Iowa State is coming off a 196.275-196.250 Iowa Corn CyHawk Series win at in-state rival Iowa. Not only did their 196.275 give them the win, it was the first time the Cyclones won in Iowa City since 2010. Furthermore, ISU's score was its highest in Iowa City since 2004 and just the third time in program history they scored above a 196.000 in Iowa City.
The Cyclones had some impressive individual performance from Meaghan Sievers and Sydney Converse. Sievers set a new personal best on beam scoring a 9.875 and in the all-around earning a 39.475. Similarly, Converse set a new career mark on beam earning a 9.875.
Iowa State will be offering free admission for kids who bring a doll to the meet. There will also be a drawing for an American Girl doll and American Girl gift cards. Cyclone students coming to the meet will be able to pick up a free Iowa State tank top prior to the meet.
