ISU's Road Schedule Concludes With No. 24 Missouri

AMES, Iowa – The No. 19 Iowa State wrestling team (9-4, 6-1 Big 12) hits the road for the final time this season to take on No. 24 Missouri (11-7, 8-0 MAC). The dual between the Cyclones and Tigers is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN3.

-No. 19 Iowa State is making its last regular season road trip on Saturday. The Cyclones are set to take on former Big 12 and Big Eight rival No. 24 Missouri at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
-The dual is sandwiched between sessions of the MHSAA Wrestling Championships, which are taking place nearby. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as parking will be limited near the Hearnes Center.
-The Cyclones are ranked No. 19 in the NWCA National Coaches Poll this week. ISU is also ranked No. 15, 14 and 19 in the FloWrestling, Intermat and TrackWrestling team rankings.
-Alex Mackall (11, 10, 11), Todd Small (14, 13, 16), Ian Parker (9, 8, 8), Jarrett Degen (13, NR, 11), David Carr (3, 3, 3), Chase Straw (NR, 33, NR), Sam Colbray (14, NR, 13), Marcus Coleman (25, NR, 23), Joel Shapiro (31, 33, NR) and Gannon Gremmel (13, 11, 12) all are ranked in the NCAA Coaches Ranking, NCAA RPI and FloWrestling polls this week.
-Iowa State's 10 individually ranked wrestlers are the most of any Big 12 team.
-The Cyclones will wrap up their regular season on Sunday with a dual against NDSU. With a win over the Bison, Iowa State would finish the season with a 7-1 record in Big 12 Action. ISU's seven conference wins would be the most in program history.
-The Big 12 announced on Thursday its Academic All-Big 12 teams. Dan Eslick, Brady Jennings, Ryan Leisure, Grant Stotts, Hank Swalla and Joe Teague were all first-team honorees. David Carr, Ian Parker and Joel Shapiro were named to the second team.
-Iowa State's nine All-Big 12 scholars is the most in program history. Jennings is now just the eighth Cyclone to earn three or more first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors.
-It's been all hands-on-deck for Dresser's lineup this season. In 11 duals this season, the Cyclones have featured six unique lineups. 15 Cyclones have suited up in dual action this season with only Small, Parker and Gremmel wrestling in all 13 duals at the same weight.
-Sam Colbray continues to adjust to life at 174 pounds. He's finding his stride having won three matches in a row including two over top-10 opponents (Anthony Mantanona, Bryce Steiert).
-Gannon Gremmel has used his championship performance at the Southern Scuffle to propel him into the second half of the season. After a tough weekend at the Duals on the Diamond, Gremmel is now 6-0 in his last six matches with three major decision victories.
-Alex Mackall (5th), Todd Small (4th), Ian Parker (4th), Jarrett Degen (6th), David Carr (3rd) and Gannon Gremmel (4th) made up the podium Cyclones at the CKLV.
-The attendance for the Iowa State-Iowa Dual (11,238) was the most in the last 20 years and the 10th-largest in Hilton Coliseum history. Another large crowd packed into Hilton Coliseum for ISU's dual with UNI last Sunday. The 5,129 people that were there made up the fourth-largest crowd in the Kevin Dresser-era.
-The Cyclone wrestling roster continues to mature. After only returning one NCAA Qualifier for the 2018-19 season, Iowa State will return eight NCAA Qualifiers (Mackall, Gomez, Parker, Degen, Straw, Coleman, Colbray and Gremmel) and one All-American (Degen).
-Dresser improved his all-time dual wins to 187 against UNI. He currently ranks as the No. 17 winningest active coach in Division I wrestling.
