AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State (3-8-3) women's soccer fell 3-2 to the Baylor Bears (4-7-2) on Thursday night. The teams were tied 2-2 before the Bears connected on an 86th minute goal to claim the victory.
Mira Emma and Eva Steckelberg both recorded goals for ISU in the loss. For Emma, it was her third goal of the season while Steckelberg connected on her first career Cyclone goal.
Offensively, Baylor out-shot the Cyclones 14-6 in the match, while each goalkeeper recorded three saves.
How It HappenedÂ
Baylor recorded the first shot of the match in the 1st minute.
The shot was blocked.
Mira Emma found the back of the net in the 3rd minute off a free kick deflection.
The goal was Emma's third of the season.
Baylor recorded two shots on goal between the 4th and 17th minutes.
In the 18th minute, Baylor tied the match 1-1.
Between the 19th and 36th minutes, the Cyclones out-shot the Bears 2-1.
One shot was saved and the other was blocked.
Off a corner kick in the 37th minute, Eva Steckelberg recorded her first career goal to put the Cyclones up 2-1.
The assist was from Mira Emma.
Just before halftime, in the 43rd minute, Baylor tied the match 2-2.
The match was tied 2-2 at halftime.
Baylor tallied six shots in the first half while ISU recorded four.
Each goalkeeper tallied two saves during the first 45 minutes.
Between the 45th and 74th minute, Baylor out-shot the Cyclones 5-0.
Two shots were blocked, two were off target and one was saved.
ISU recorded their first second half shot in the 74th minute.
The shot was saved.
The Bears connected on an 86th minute goal to take the 3-2 lead.
Iowa State recorded one final shot in the match.
The shot was saved.
Baylor defeated the Cyclones 3-2.
The Bears tallied eight shots in the second half while the Cyclones recorded two.
