The Lead:Â After a bounce-back victory over North Dakota on Wednesday, the Iowa State men's basketball team will face the undefeated St. John's Red Storm in the Big 12/BIG EAST Battle on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff against the Red Storm is set for 2:00 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
Storylines:
Iowa State enters Sunday's Big 12/BIG EAST Battle against St. John's ranked 23rd in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Polls.Â
This will be the second meeting between the Cyclones and St. John's, with the Red Storm winning 71-47 in 1948.
Iowa State has won 15-straight games against non-conference opponents at Hilton Coliseum.
Wednesday's victory over North Dakota was the 200th all-time win as a ranked team for the Cyclones.
Caleb Grill continued his hot streak from downtown, connecting on 4-of-5 from long range against North Dakota. In the victory over No. 1 North Carolina, Grill was 7-of-11 from 3-point range, becoming the second player since 1996 to hit seven or more 3-pointers in a win over the top-ranked team in the nation.
The Cyclones are forcing a turnover on 30.7 percent of opponents possessions this season, the second-best in the nation.
Tamin Lipsey is averaging 4.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game in the first seven games. He is one of three true freshmen in the country to average those numbers.
ISU has won 15-straight games when scoring in the 80's.

Sunday will be the first away game of the season for the Red Storm.
Head coach Mike Anderson has experience coaching in Hilton Coliseum. Anderson was the head coach at Missouri from 2006-20011 when the Tigers were still a member of the Big 12 conference.
St. John's currently has four players averaging double digit points per game. David Jones leads the Red Storm averaging 16.1 points per game followed by Joel Soriano (15.1), Andre Curbelo (11.1) and Montez Mathis (10.4).
Defensively, the Red Storm currently lead the BIG EAST Conference averaging 9.9 forced turnovers per game.
