AMES, Iowa – Iowa State now moves to outdoor season, opening with the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Fla. March 15-16.

Iowa State will have 15 men and nine women compete in the outdoor season opener, including three who will begin their Iowa State careers.
Iowa State closed indoor season with seven individuals earning First Team All-America honors and 11 total honors at NCAA Indoor Championships. Sydney Willits became the 44th national champion in school history in the long jump (22-1 1/2, 6.74m), breaking her previous best that qualified her for nationals by a full foot and the school record by six inches.
The women ended the championship in 20th with 10 points and the men 23rd with 11 points. It is the first time since 1992 the women and men have finished in the top 25 together, indoor or outdoor. It is also the highest finish for the women since 2014 where 19th place was finalized with 10 points.
