BOSTON – Two Cyclones earned First Team All-America in the 800-meter run while Cam Jones totaled his second All-America honor of the championship to close out NCAA Indoor Championships.
For the first time since 1992, both the women and men finish in the top 25 at NCAA Championships (indoor or outdoor). The women secure 20th with 10 points and the men 23rd with 11 points. It is the highest finish for the women since 2014, where 19th place was secured with 10 points at indoor nationals.
Finley Mclear had a late kick out of the final turn but had no room to work around other runners as he took third with 1:47.68 in the 800m, earning his third-career First Team All-America honor and first at Iowa State. Darius Kipyego sealed sixth with 1:47.99 in his first NCAA Championships appearance, also grabbing First Team All-America status.
Mclear and Kipyego become the 12th and 13th indoor 800m All-Americans in school history as Iowa State now totals 16 total honors.
Making history.

With Jones' first mark in the shot put of 61-3 (18.67m), the thrower would place 12th in the nation for Second Team All-America honors. That brings his career total to three, with two coming from this year's championship as Jones was one of two men in the nation to double in the shot put and weight throw.
Jones is the fourth in program history to lock up indoor shot put All-America honors and brings in the sixth total honor for Iowa State.
Iowa State ends NCAA Championships with one national champion, four First Team All-America and four Second Team All-America honors.
