No. 14 Iowa State opens the season on Monday with a matchup against St. Thomas. It marks the third meeting in as many seasons between the Cyclones and the Tommies.
FIELD TRIP DAY IN HILTON COLISEUM
Iowa State hosts its annual Field Trip Day on Monday in Hilton Coliseum, inviting area schools to participate in an educational day with the Cyclones.
FOUR THINGS
4 – Iowa State signed two transfers and two freshmen to add to the 2025-26 roster. Jada Williams (Arizona) and Evangelia Paulk (Wofford) join the Cyclones for their junior seasons while Reese Beaty and Freya Jensen enter for their true freshmen seasons.
14 – The Cyclones enter the 2025-26 season ranked No. 14 in the AP preseason poll, the 14th time in program history they have appeared in the preseason poll.
23 – Iowa State enters the 2025-26 season fresh off its 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance. The Cyclones have played in each of the last six NCAA Championships, one of 15 programs in the country to do so.
30 – ISU has won each of its last 30 regular season openers, the active long streak in NCAA Division I women's basketball. UConn has the second longest streak with win in each of its last 28 regular season openers.
LAST SEASON
Iowa State finished its season in the NCAA Championships for the 23rd time in program history. The Cyclones drew No. 11 Princeton in a First Four contest in Notre Dame, Indiana. ISU defeated the Tigers, 68-63, behind a combined 49 points from All-Big 12 selections Audi Crooks and Addy Brown for head coach Bill Fennelly's 800th career win. Brown added eight assists and seven rebounds as well. ISU advanced to the first round to face Michigan but came up short in the 80-74 heartbreaker.
CYCLONES GARNER PRESEASON ATTENTION
Iowa State's trio of Addy Brown, Audi Crooks and Jada Williams have each received attention in the preseason, appearing on several watch lists and collection preseason recognition. Brown and Crooks were voted to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team and appeared on the Naismith Trophy Preseason watch list. When the Naismith Starting 5 award watch lists were announced, Williams (Nancy Lieberman Award), Brown (Katrina McClain Award) and Crooks (Lisa Leslie Award) were all three selected to their respective position 20-woman watch lists.
