AMES, Iowa – The distance crew heads to the Bryan Clay Invite this week, while throwers, jumpers, sprinters and hurdlers head to the Kansas Relays.

Action for Iowa State begins late Wednesday at Bryan Clay as Kiki Connell races in the fast section of the open steeple beginning around 10 p.m. CT. Joash Ruto will compete in his first steeple in the fast section of the invite steeple at 10:40 p.m., while Quinton Orr runs in the invite section right after. Wednesday continues with Robin Kwemoi Bera, Sanele Masondo and Said Mechaal running in the invite 10K beginning at 11:45 p.m.
Men's and women's 5Ks will be run on Thursday, and 1,500m sections take place Friday. Assigned sections are TBA.
Iowa State had 16 men and 11 women set to compete at the Kansas Relays Thursday through Saturday. ISU will return to Lawrence for Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 15-17.
Last week, Cyclones put up three marks ranking in the top 15 nationally, led by Rachel Joseph's No. 4-ranking 51.10 400m. Cam Jones ranks 14th with his shot put mark of 62-5 (19.02m) set at the 44 Farms Team Invite. At the Jim Duncan Invite, Emanuel Galdino (3:40.09, No. 15 NCAA) and Devan Kipyego (3:40.49, No. 19 NCAA) both went 3:40 and will look to improve on their times at Bryan Clay.
Following the Bryan Clay Invite and Kansas Relays, Drake Relays are up next held Wednesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 26.
