Desert Heat Classic Primer

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State now heads to Tucson for the Desert Heat Classic this Saturday, May 3.

Field events begin at 1 p.m. CT, while running events kick off at 6:30 p.m. and run through midnight for ISU.

Last week at Drake Relays, the men won the Relays Cup for the first time since 2021, while Cyclones won the men's 4x1,600m, men's sprint medley relay and the women's steeplechase.

The men's 10K squad of Said Mechaal, Rodgers Kiplimo, Robin Kwemoi Bera and Ryan Watts continue to rank second in the nation with their average of 27:59.92, while ISU men's discus throwers rank No. 8 nationally (175-2 average).

Iowa State closes regular season next Friday, May 9 hosting the Cyclone Twilight at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
