Iowa State Concludes the Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio - After a very strong third round, the Cyclones finish the Bearcat Invitational in 16th (+21). Iowa State carded the second-lowest round of the day in the third round with a score of -5. The Cyclones finished with one of five rounds to score five-under or better in the tournament.

Paul Beauvy led the way for the Cyclones, tying for 40th (+3). Beauvy carded nine birdies in the tournament, and finished with the seventh-best score on Par 3's (-1). Owen Sawyer shot a season-low three-under par today to climb 27 spots to tie for 49th (+5). Sawyer finished the tournament with nine birdies.

Zach May shot an even-par 71 in the third round to finish seven-over (T-60th). May tallied six birdies these past two days. After struggling in the first two rounds, Julian Geerebaert fired a career-low 68 (-3) today, which included eight birdies in the third round alone. Geerebaert jumps 15 spots to finish the tournament tied for 80th (+13), and carded a team-high eleven birdies.

Dianchao Wu (+14) finished right behind Geerebaert, tying for 82nd, and carded seven birdies in the tournament. Playing as an individual, Jackson McCommon shot one-over today to finish tied for 55th (+6). McCommon tallied eight birdies over the course of three rounds.

Host Cincinnati wins the Bearcat Invitational, finishing -18 and eleven strokes ahead of second place Little Rock. Furman's Harris Bath holds on to win the individual title at nine-under par.

The Cyclones are back at it next week, as they travel to Lincoln, Neb. for the Git R Done Invitational for the first time. The event will start on Monday, Sept. 22nd and will conclude Tuesday, Sept. 23rd.
