Iowa State Finishes In 15th At Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, PR- After a rainy half hour delay Iowa State finished off the Puerto Rico Classic alone in 15th. The Cyclones shot 11-over in their final day to put their three round total at 14-over. Finishing in the top spot for the Cyclones first tournament back was Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn. Chul Ak-Sorn had a round three score of four-over to put her total at three-under placing her in a tie for 15th. Playing as an individual Isabella Yan took the Cyclones second spot after shooting a round three score of two-over placing her in a tie for 55th and totaling her score at a plus-four.Â
Alexandra Vidal had the Cyclonitas best round three score with a one-over round which helped her move up to a tie for 59th and putting her total score at five-over. Vidal tied the team high with three birdies on her day. Nichakorn Pinprayoon ended her tournament off with a four-over round placing herself in a tie for 73rd with a three round total of plus-seven. Pinprayoon tied Vidal with the team high three birdies in her final round.Â
Pammy Chookaew placed in a tie for 78th after shooting the Cyclones third four-over final round, putting her total at plus-eight. Keeley Marx rounded out the Cyclonitas in a tie for 83rd after shooting two-over, her best round of the tournament. Marx's three round total was 10-over with a pair of birdies to help.
Arkansas never gave up the lead as they finished out as the Puerto Rico Champions with a final score of 23-under.Â
The Cyclonitas next will head to Houston, Texas for the Texas Golf Throwdown on Feb. 16-17.
