HOUSTON, Texas - Emi Snow drove in three RBI to lead BYU past Iowa State, 4-1, in Crowne Plaza Classic action at Houston, Texas on Friday afternoon.
With the loss, Iowa State falls to 1-5 while BYU improves to 9-4 on the season.
A pair of leadoff walks and a two-RBI single by Emi Snow highlighted a three-run second inning that put the Cougars on top 3-0.
Snow struck again for BYU in the third inning, driving home Ianeta Le'I with a single through the left side to put the Cougars up 4-0.
Katherine Cross singled to right field to plate Ashley Killeen and close the gap to 4-1 in the fourth inning. Killeen had reached on a leadoff single before Cross' first career hit allowed her to score the first Cyclone run of the game.
Killeen went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run while Cross was 1-for-2 with her first RBI of the season.
BYU was led offensively by Snow, who drove in three of the Cougars four runs.
Alyssa Ransom (0-3) allowed four runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits and took the loss for the Cyclones.
Daniella Urincho allowed just four hits to improve to 4-2 this season for the Cougars.
ISU will continue tournament action against Rhode Island on Saturday at 3 p.m.
