AMES, Iowa – After a six-straight road meets, the No. 17 Iowa State gymnastics team (7-6. 1-2 Big 12) returns to Hilton Coliseum on Friday for a match-up with No. 25 Michigan State. The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m. featuring Princess & Superhero Meet festivities.
The Cyclones had a success road trip, posting scores above 196 in five-of-six meets. In that stretch, Iowa State defeated a pair of ranked opponents and earned the highest score of head coach Jay Ronayne's tenure at Iowa State with a 196.800 at Florida. The Cyclones also saw four gymnasts tally scores of 9.950, with another two reaching 9.925. Newcomer Andrea Maldonado returns to Ames as a top-10 gymnast nationally on floor.
Fans are encouraged to dress up in elegant and heroic apparel. Prior to the meet, real princesses and superheroes will be on the concourse for pictures. Little princesses and superheroes are invited to participate in a parade around the inner concourse at 6:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at this link until noon on Friday.
