Cam Jones brought in the next championship title while taking down seven-time All-American Jamie Beyer's 1999 shot put school record. His mark of 64-3 3/4 (19.60m) currently ranks 10th in the nation. Jones moved into second on his first attempt, and moved into first for good on his fourth. His fifth attempt was his best, while he topped his previous best with each of his six marks. The thrower becomes a two-time Big 12 champ, adding to his weight throw title he earned last year. It is the first indoor shot put title for Iowa State since 2000 and eighth total in program history.
