Leading the Cyclones
The duo of Keck and Furmaniak lead Iowa State's offense, as the two combine to make up four of the team's five goals this season. Defender Chloe Broughton holds the team's other score. Furmaniak has a team-high 10 shots while Keck leads the team with five points.
Yira Yoggerst is the fourth Cyclone with a point on the year, as the senior transfer has an assist to her name, tying her with Keck for most on the squad. Isabella Agrusso, Lauren Hernandez, Ella Zimmerman and Makenna Marshall lead the hard-nosed Cyclone defense as both Agrusso and Hernandez have the most minutes played by any fielder.
Avery Gillahan has played all 270 minutes this season in the net, allowing three goals through a trio of contests. Gilly tallied her fourth career shutout and first of the season against Western Illinois in the season opener. She currently has nine saves.
Opponent Outlook
The Panthers will look for their second-ever win against the Cyclones, as they come to Ames for their first road test of the season. UNI will meet ISU on the 25th anniversary of its first ever game back in 2000 against SEMO.
UNI comes to Ames after its 5-1 home win over WIU last Sunday. All five Panther goals against WIU came in the first half, tying a school record. Morgan Barnette secured her first multi-goal match by tallying two goals in the first 12 minutes of action. Olivia Bohl, Lauren Heinsch and Marissa Gross also recorded goals last time out.
Between the pipes, Caitlin Richards gave up just one goal and earned a pair of saves. She has a career goals-against average of 1.14.
Series History
The Cyclones lead the all-time series with UNI, owning an 11-1-1 record. ISU won the first 11 meetings of the series but saw that streak snapped in 2018 with a loss to the Panthers. The two teams last met in the spring of 2021 where they drew. The Cyclones average two goals per game against UNI in Ames.
Up Next
After wrapping the month of August against UNI, ISU will again be back on the road when it heads to nationally ranked Memphis. The Tigers and Cyclones will square off next Sunday, Sept. 1, at 8 p.m. and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
