SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – No. 56 Iowa State came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits on Saturday to take down Utah, 4-3 and pick up its fourth Big 12 win of the season. The Cyclones move to 10-8 overall and 4-6 in Big 12 action.
In doubles, Utah claimed two victories on courts one and two to pick up the doubles point and take the early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, the Cyclones got on the board with No. 72 Anna Supapitch Kuearum's school-record 17th career conference singles win over Sara Akid, 6-2, 6-2 on court two. Utah would pull ahead once again though on court one as Emma Kamper took down Julia Camblor, 7-6 (4), 6-1.
The Cyclones took their first lead of the match via wins by Suzanie Pretorius and Valeska San Martin Ramirez on courts five and six, respectively. Utah went on to tie the match up at three, just before Cristina Ramos Sierra earned the match-clinching victory on court four over Emma Valletta, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3.
The Cyclones return to action Saturday, April 5 when they host Kansas.
