Kicking Off
Iowa State will head west to take on Creighton this Thursday in its first road test of the 2025 campaign. Coach Matt Fannon will look to lead the Cyclones to their 200th all-time program win against his good friend and former BGSU head coach Jimmy Walker.
The Cyclones opened the 2025 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Portland State last Thursday in Ames. After going down 1-0, ISU rattled off two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead before the Vikings scored the equalizer in the final ten minutes.
Creighton opened up the season last week on the road against Oklahoma, falling to the Sooners 4-1. The Bluejays bounced back on Sunday, downing Kansas City on the road and winning 2-1. Thursday's tilt against ISU will be the Bluejays' home-opener.

Leading the Cyclones
Midfielders Lauren Hernandez and Morgan Goodman lead the Cyclones in scoring, as each has a goal and two points to their name. Megan Walters and Regan John are the lone other Cyclones with points on the year, as each had an assist in the season-opener.
Ella Zimmerman, Lucy Froitzheim, Hernandez and John led all field players in minutes played, as each went the distance in the season-opener. Both Zimmerman and Goodman lead the team in shots, as each had three against Portland State.
Between the pipes, Kasey Cannistraro got the start in the opener, playing all 90 minutes and notching one save.
Overall, the Cyclones have two goals this season and have allowed two scores. The team has 13 total shots, averaging 13 per contest, and places 30.8% of them on goal.
Opponent Outlook
After opening the season with a pair of road contests, Creighton returns to Morrison Stadium to take on ISU in its home opener. The Bluejays are 0-1 against Power 4 teams this season, falling to now No. 23 Oklahoma in Norman.
Three different Bluejays have recorded goals through two games, as Brynn Gardner, Ella Luna and Ariana Mondiri each have a score to their name. Jalen Chaney and Savanna Solomon each have an assist to round out the scorers.

Iowa State and Creighton will be meeting for the 12th time this Thursday, as the Cyclones look to earn their first win against the Bluejays since 2021. ISU is 4-1-2 all-time against Creighton in Omaha, earning a draw the last time the two teams met at Morrison Stadium in 2022.
