Against No. 1 California, the Cyclones fell behind early when the Golden Bears took a 3-0 lead after two innings. After a scoreless third inning,
Kimura and junior Cary Akins led the Cyclones offensively. Kimura had two hits in the contest, including her first double of the season and the eighth of her career. Junior Kristen Karanzias was on the mound for ISU and worked her first complete game of the year.
Against No. 16 Florida, the Gators jumped on the scoreboard with two runs in the first inning when center fielder Shelly Stevens and first baseman Melissa Zick. The score remained 2-0 through three innings.
